After years of buying and looking for good 3D books, I came to the conclusion that most 3D books are not worth the paper it is printed on. In my opinion, If you want to know how to use the software, read the manual...! If you still crave for more tips and tricks, surf the Web for additional tutorials, and learn from experienced animators on one of the many animation and software forums. There is however a small selection of books that no animator should be without. If you want lo learn more about the art of animation, study the masters in the field. There are lots of really great 2D animation books, which illustrates the principles and disciplines of animation beautifully. Seeing that these books deal with the art of animation (and not just 2D animation), the knowledge and principles can be applied in 3D with the same level of success.
